Roundup: Indiana – Week 5

East Central 31, Batesville 14 – For a second straight week East Central (4-1, 1-0) has taken down a team from the unbeaten ranks. The Trojans previous three wins had all been by fewer than eight points. The loss ended a seven game regular season winning streak by Batesville (4-1, 1-0). The 31 points were the most that the Bulldogs have allowed since October of 2012, a streak of 27 games.

Lawrenceburg 47, Franklin County 20 – After getting outscored 97-20 and losing its first two contests of the year Lawrenceburg (2-3, 0-1) has found some offense. The Tigers have won two of their last three affairs posting 40-plus points in those wins.

Greensburg 28, South Dearborn 20 – Friday night’s victory gave Greensburg (3-2, 1-0) its first three game winning streak since 2012. The Pirates who are now 2-0 versus the EIAC Class 4A division will take on another crossover foe, Franklin County next Friday night.

Rushville 41, Connersville 40 –Down by 13 points heading into the fourth quarter Rushville (1-4, 0-1) outscored Connersville (0-5, 0-2) 19-7 to pick up its first win of the year. Despite the win the Lions gave up 40-plus points for a third straight week. Connersville has now lost nine in a row dating back to last season.
