Best Bets: NKY/Indiana Week 6

Much of Northern Kentucky is on a bye this week, but Week 6 features several key games in Southeastern Indiana.
TriStateFootball takes a look at the Best Bets for Week 6 in Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana:
Lawrenceburg (2-4) at Rushville (1-5), 7 p.m. — This game features a pair of teams that have played better recently after rough starts. Lawrenceburg was pounded in its first two games but has won two of its last four, losing by one and 15 points in that span. Rushville dropped its first four tilts of the year but beat Connersville two weeks ago and lost by just seven to Lapel last Friday. These teams have only met twice in recent history, with the Tigers winning both matchups, including a 61-22 decision last year.
Batesville (5-1) at Greensburg (3-3), 7 p.m. — Both teams are unbeaten in EIAC 3A play, with Batesville winning its first two league games while Greensburg is 1-0. After falling to East Central on Sept. 18, the Bulldogs beat Lawrenceburg, 29-14 last week. Greensburg had won three straight games before dropping a 38-33 decision to Franklin County on Sept. 25. These teams met in sectionals last year, with the Bulldogs coming out on top, 24-10, but these teams are dead-even recently, with Batesville winning 21 of the last 40 meetings dating back to 1985.
Franklin County (4-2) at South Dearborn (2-4), 7 p.m. — Franklin County has dropped two of three after starting 3-0 but is coming off a 38-33 win over Greensburg. The stingy Wildcats defense that allowed just 18.5 points per game in the team’s first four games has surrendered 80 in the last contests. South Dearborn looks to bounce back from a 79-0 loss to East Central last weekend. Offense has been an issue for the Knights, who are scoring an average of just 12.3 points. These teams are tied for second at 1-1 in EIAC 4A, a game behind East Central, which is obviously the team to beat in this conference.
Conner (4-1) at Lloyd (4-1), 7 p.m. — For the third straight week, Conner pulled out a win by four points or fewer, topping NewCath, 21-17 last Friday. The Cougars beat Dixie Heights and Scott by one point each in their previous two contests. Brian Manning has four interceptions and two fumble recoveries to pace a Conner defense that has allowed just 15.5 points in its four wins. Coach Eric Turner has turned Lloyd around in a short period. The Juggernauts’ only loss is to Beechwood, and they are averaging 33.4 points per game. Charles Gaines has lived up to his last name for Lloyd, catching 24 passes for 433 yards and seven touchdowns.
Brossart (5-0) at Ludlow (4-2), 7 p.m. — Yes, those records are correct. Brossart won one game last year, and Ludlow started to turn the corner, going 6-5 in 2014 after struggling for several years. QB Craig Pfefferman is having a solid season for the Mustangs, going 43 of 73 for 822 yards and eight touchdowns vs. just three picks. Frank Cetrulo is his top target with 20 catches for 300 yards and four TDs. Ludlow has had more success running the ball, as quarterback Justin Blackburn has run for 659 yards and eight scores, and Jeremiah Martin has gained 481 rushing yards and scored four times.
