By The Numbers: Jay Volpenhein

The Anderson (7-4) offense was highly entertaining in 2016. The Redskins averaged 42.6 points per game. They scored 40 points or more in all seven of their wins and never less than 21 in any of their losses.

Leading way for the explosive offense was quarterback Jay Volpenhein. The junior shattered all of the school passing records as the catalyst in the spread/read offense that veteran head coach Evan Dreyer brought along in his debut at the helm for Anderson. The Redskins would make the playoffs for the first time since 2009 and Volpenhein flourished. He would be named the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Co-offensive player of the year and Division II First Team All-Southwest District.
