2017 Video Snapshot: Indian Hill

Over the past two seasons Indian Hill has combined to go 20-3. They have been dominate on both sides of the ball during that time frame. This season the defense will be front and center. Once again, don’t expect the Braves to give up many points as they look to make the playoffs for a third year in a row, for the third time in school history.

HONOR ROLL
Marco Fiore, Sr, QB/DB/P – The versatile Fiore does everything but sell popcorn at halftime. As a junior he completed all four of his passes for 148 yards (37.0 yards/att) with two touchdown tosses, ran for 98 yards on nine carries (10.8/carry), had six receptions for 75 yards (12.5/rec), amassed 416 total return yards (25.5/punt return), returned three punts for scores, went 11/11 on extra point attempts, hit his only field goal attempt, averaged 43.4 on 23 punts while landing nine inside the opponents 20-yard line, was in on 38 total tackles and had seven interceptions. His leg earned him First Team All-Southwest District honors as a punter in ’16.

Mick Oakes, Sr, OT/DL – The leader of the Braves defense. The 6-foot-3, 230 pound Oakes was a Special Mention All-Southwest District and First Team All-CHL performer last fall. He has 99 career total tackles and eight-and-a-half sacks.

Jalen Thornton, Jr, LT/DL – A rising star, the 6-foot-4, 240 pound Thornton was named First Team All-CHL as a sophomore. He already has offers that include Cincinnati, Kentucky, Marshall, Toledo and West Virginia.

John-Mark Williams, Jr, LB – A returning starter and a real pleasant surprise a year ago. Williams notched 64 total tackles and five sacks on his way Second Team All-CHL accolades.

Mykal Bright, Sr, DB – A ballhawk in the secondary. Bright had four interceptions including a pick six against Waynesville on Honorable Mention All-CHL acclaim in ’16.

Colin Shaw, Sr, ATH/DB – four year as a starter, Shaw was an Honorable Mention All-CHL selection in ’16 and a Special Mention All-Southwest District honoree as a sophomore

Tennyson Holmes, Sr, RB/DB – A rock solid tackler, Holmes was named Honorable Mention All-CHL as a junior.

Gabe Johnson, Sr, OL/DL – The anchor in the middle of the d-line, Johnson earned Honorable Mention All-CHL in ’16.

OFFENSIVE FIREWORKS
Indian Hill averaged 49.8 points per contest with an average margin of victory of 39.2 points per game in ‘16. The Braves scored at least 42 points in all nine of their victories. Four time they scored more than 52 points.

SHUTOUT CENTRAL
The Braves defense recorded five shutouts last fall and allowed just 10.6 points per game. Indian Hill gave up just 3.1 points in its nine wins.
