Fairfield sacks Sycamore

CINCINNATI, ohio – A dominant defensive performance lifted Fairfield to its fourth straight win. The Indians went into Sycamore and overwhelmed them with relentless pressure. The victory keeps Fairfield with nothing less than a share of the Greater Miami Conference lead.

The Indians registered eight sacks, held the Aviators to -36 yards on 26 rushes and gave up a grand total 128 yards on the night. They did all of that damage while being on the field for just under 11 minutes of the contest. Malik Vann and Del Thomas each had a pair of sacks. Vann also ran for a touchdown for the second straight week. The Fairfield defense is allowing just 6.0 points per game during its current four game winning streak.

Fairfield’s offense was efficient and proficient eating up clock at rapid pace. The Indians were led by Taimar Boykin, Chico Robinson and Jeff Tyus. Boykin (109) and Tyus (93) each ran for career highs. Tyus also threw for 161 yards. Robinson amassed 158 all-purpose yards on 14 touches (seven receptions) and ran for a score. The team finished with 423 yards of total offense.
