TriStateFootball.com paid tribute to finest from Dayton’s high school gridiron at the Year In Review Show on Monday night at Cadillac Jack’s in Centerville.
Alter linebacker Cody Byers was recognized as our Dayton Defensive Player of the Year.
The Wisconsin-bound senior was a key cog in the Knights’ back-to-back Ohio Division IV State Championships. He was named the Ohio Division IV Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He was also voted as a member of Second-Team All TriStateFootball.com.
Byers ended up with five interceptions and 93 total tackles on the season.
Other nominations included Trey DePriest (Springfield), Jake Dwyer (Springsboro), Xavior Johnson (Northmont), Jordon Paschal (Trotwood-Madison), and Terry Talbott (Wayne).
