TriStateFootball.com paid tribute to finest from Northern Kentucky’s high school gridiron at the Year In Review Show on Wednesday night at Longneck’s Sports Grill in Wilder.
Highlands’ linebacker Brandon Roller was recognized as our Northern Kentucky Defensive Player of the Year. He was unable to attend the event though, as he is participating in this weekend’s Border Bowl.
Roller was part of a senior class that went 44-1 and won three state championships. The senior was the anchor of the Bluebirds’ defense and one of the team’s key leaders off the field.
He was named First-Team All-State in Kentucky by the Associated Press and voted as a member of First-Team All TriStateFootball.com.
Other nominations included Nik Brown (Simon Kenton), Chris Kelly (NewCath), Regal Lowe (Holmes), Drew Rice (Ludlow) and Markel Walker (Holy Cross).
