NKY Offensive POY: Miles Simpson

The postseason hardware was handed out at Longneck’s Sports Grill in Wilder on Wednesday, saluting the best in high school football this year in the Northern Kentucky area.

Simon Kenton running back Miles Simpson was named our Northern Kentucky Offensive Player of the Year.

One of the most gifted athletes to come out of Northern Kentucky in years, Simpson ran for 2,229 yards and 38 touchdowns. It was the second straight season he ran for over 2,000 yards and amassed 40-plus touchdowns.

In five District games he found the end zone 23 times. The First-Team All-State performer finishes his Pioneer career with 4,883 yards and 87 scores. Simpson was voted First-Team All-TriStateFootball.com.

Other nominations included Ricky Buckler (Bellevue), Austin Collinsworth (Highlands), Travis Elliott (Ryle), Matt Rigdon (Beechwood), and Nick West (Conner).
