Northwest linebacker Preston Brown pulled one the biggest surprises on Signing Day, when he opted to sign with Louisville instead of Cincinnati, the team that he had originally committed to.
However, after Brian Kelly departed as the Bearcats’ head coach, the door opened for other schools to seek Brown’s services.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound three-star recruit is rated as the 75th best outside linebacker in the nation and 37th best overall prospect in the Class of 2010 by Rivals.com.
"They seem like they are going in the right direction now,” Brown said of Louisville. “They've got the pieces in place and are trying to get recruits in to help. I see success for him and they can go nowhere but up.”
Other commitments from the Fort Ancient Valley Scarlet include offensive linemen Taylor Miller (Toledo) and Trey Breh (Mount St. Joseph’s) of Edgewood and defensive back Matt Wallace (Thomas More College) and offensive lineman Tyler West (Notre Dame College) from Norwood.
