Sophomore running backs Nick Marsh and Tyler Renners combined to run for 181 yards as CHCA (3-2, 2-0) knocked off previously unbeaten Cincinnati Country Day (4-1, 1-1), 22-6. Marsh would run for a game high 101 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles built a 19-0 third quarter lead. Renners came into the contest with just 46 yards rushing on the season as he finished the night with 80 yards on the ground.
For the third straight week the CHCA defense held their opponents to six points or less. It won’t be easy to maintain that kind of pace as the Eagles next three foes all average over 28 points per tilt and are a combined 11-4 on the season.
The Indians could not get their offense jump started in this game as they were held to under 150 yards of total offense and were to 23 points below their season average.
CHCA is at Summit Country Day (3-2, 0-2) on Friday night. The Indians will look to get back in the win column next week at North College Hill (3-2, 2-0).
