By TSF Staff | TRISTATEFOOTBALL.COM

Lockland used a solid running attack to move to 6-0 with a win over Cincinnati Christian.

Lockland (6-0, 3-0) protected their home turf, 39-6 over visiting Cincinnati Christian (2-4, 0-3). The Panthers who were ranked sixth in the latest Ohio Division VI poll and #1 in the Region 24 Harbin ratings did nothing to damage their quest to host a home playoff tilt.

Special teams scored three times for Lockland. Avery Barnes had a 40-yard fumble recovery and a 70-yards punt return for touchdowns in the second quarter. DJ Wilkinson picked up a blocked field goal attempt and took it 99-yards for a score after intermission for the team’s final score making it 39-0 in the third quarter.

Senior Brian Bennett, who came into the game with only three carries for five yards, busted out for Lockland. The senior rushed for 96 yards on 11 carries and his first touchdown of the season.

The lone bright spot for the Cougars was the play of freshman Logan Katsetos who finished 10-14 for 176 passing and a rushing score. It was just his second start.

The road to the MVC doesn’t get any easier for the Panthers as their final four opponents all currently stand at 4-2. They are at Division IV CHCA (4-2, 3-0) next Friday. Cincinnati Christian hosts Summit Country Day (3-3, 0-3).
