SWBL Southwestern: 2011 Award Winners

Joey McCafferty of Eaton topped off a fine career by being named the SWBL Southwestern Co-Receiver of the Year in 2011.




The Franklin Wildcats earned many individual honors after their team went 9-2 and hosted a Division II, Region 8 playoff game. Here is a look at the 2011 Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division award winners for 2011>

Back’s of the Year
Chris Hymer, Franklin, 5-9, 175, Jr.: Carried the ball 147 times for 870 yards with 14 rushing touchdowns. Hauled in 14 catches for 154 yards and returned 12 kickoffs for 293 yards and a score.* Hymer goes into his senior season with 1,746 yards and 19 touchdowns rushing at the varsity level.**

Cole French, Eaton, 6-4, 200, Sr.: Threw for 2,360 yards with 19 touchdown passes while rushing for 402 yards and eight more scores. On defense he was in on 32 tackles and had two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. French finishes his career 5,243 yards and 47 touchdowns passing, 614 yards rushing, 14 total touchdowns and eight interceptions on defense.

Tyler Schenck, Valley View, 5-7, 170, Sr.: Ran for 990 yards with 12 touchdowns, had six receptions for 62 yards and averaged 19.8 per kickoff return in nine games. Schenck caps off his career with 1,405 yards and 17 touchdowns rushing with 62 receptions for 668 yards and six more scores.

Corbin Caudill, Brookville, Sr.: Had 1,220 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns. Caudill ran for 1,997 yards and 34 touchdowns the past two seasons.


Receiver’s of the Year
Everett Williams, Franklin, 6-2, 165, Sr.: Had a school record 53 receptions for 709 yards and three touchdowns.*

Joey McCafferty, Eaton, 5-11, 175, Sr.: Hauled in 62 balls for 910 yards and eight touchdowns. On special teams he returned two punts for scores and averaged 23.5 yards per kickoff return. On defense the senior had 88 total tackles, 14 tackles for losses, two fumble recoveries and an interception. McCafferty ends his career with 98 receptions for 1,238 yards, 12 receiving and 21 total touchdowns.

Offensive Linemen of the Year
Ricky Johnson, Franklin, 6-3, 230, Sr.:

Timmy Lovett, Bellbrook, 6-3, 240, Sr.: This is the second straight season Lovett has received this honor.

Defensive Lineman of the Year
Andrew McKee, Eaton, 6-2, 255, Sr.: Was in on 57 total tackles with 13 for losses and 4.0 sacks.

Linebacker’s of the Year
Nate Woods, Franklin, 5-9, 175, Jr.: Made 141 total tackles, 11 tackles for losses, 6.0 sacks & two interceptions.

Josh Easter, Bellbrook, 5-2, 205, Sr.: Registered 80 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for losses, one interception and three pass breakups.

Defensive Back’s of the Year
Scott Dwyer, Franklin, 5-11, 160, Sr.: Had 44 total tackles, six interceptions and a fumble recovery. Dwyer has eight career interceptions.*

Jalen Taylor, Eaton, 5-11, 160, Sr.: Was in on 92 total tackles with two fumble recoveries and four interceptions. Taylor finishes his career with six interceptions pn defense and 73 receptions for 1,341 yards and eight touchdowns on offense.
