The SWBL Buckeye League belonged to Waynesville as they went undefeated during the regular season. Spartans quarterback Luke Creditt led the way as his performance earned him Player of the Year honors in the league. Here is a look at the SWBL Buckeye award winners for 2011.
Offensive Player of the Year
Luke Creditt, Waynesville, 6-2, 200, Sr.: Threw for 1,79 yards with 20 touchdown passes, ran for 1,270 yards and 15 touchdowns. Creditt winds up his career with 4,246 yards and 51 touchdowns passing (only 12 interceptions), 2,192 yards rushing and 22 rushing scores.
Back of the Year
Jake Finfrock, Milton-Union, 5-7, 170, Sr.: Set school records with 1,524 rushing yards, 20 rushing touchdowns and 2,055 all-purpose yards.
Receiver of the Year
Nate Jackson, Northridge, 6-3, 185, Jr.: Caught 58 balls for 970 yards and seven touchdowns.
Offensive Linemen of the Year
Hunter Schmidt, Waynesville, 5-11, 235, Sr.: Graded out around 90% in each game for the Spartans.
Jordan Poland, Milton-Union, 6-6, 255, Sr.:
Defensive Lineman of the Year
Isaac Hammonds, Waynesville, 6-0, 260, Sr.: In on 67 total tackles with 10 going for losses.
Brad Topp, Carlisle, 6-2, 190, Jr.: Was in on 101 total tackles with an astounding 30 for losses including 16.0 sacks. Topp also had a safety and three fumble recoveries
Defensive Back of the Year
Brandon Mize, Madison, 6-0, 175, Jr.: Intercepted five passes.
