Indiana Defensive POY: Payton Stonefield

East Central linebacker Payton Stonefield was named the 2011 Indiana Defensive Player of the Year.




TriStateFootball.com paid tribute to finest from Indiana’s high school gridiron at the NKY/Indiana Year In Review Show on Monday night at TGI Friday’s in Crestview Hills.

East Central linebacker Payton Stonefield was recognized as our Indiana Defensive Player of the Year.

He became East Central’s all-time leader in tackling points on his way to earning Class 4A Honorable Mention All-Indiana honors and as a Second-Team, All-EIAC selection.

Stonefield was the team’s leading tackler and had two interceptions, three sacks and nine tackles for losses.

Other nominations included Nick Lambrinides (East Central), Tyler Leising, Batesville, Cameron Louden (South Dearborn), Garrett Saunders (South Dearborn), and Ben Wewe (Franklin County).
