Signing Day Recap: GMC

By Dan Clasgens | Managing Editor

Sycamore offensive lineman AJ Williams signed his letter of intent with Michigan.

Last week’s Signing Day brought plenty of buzz around the Tri-state area, including inside the Greater Miami Conference. Several GMC players signed their letters of intent. We take a deeper look at some of the major BCS prospects.

Michigan dipped into the conference and made a big splash by landing Sycamore offensive tackle AJ Williams (6-6, 255) and linebacker Joe Bolden (6-3, 230), arguably the two best players at their position in the city.

The Wolverines lost out on Oak Hills tackle Caleb Stacey (6-4, 295), however. The Highlander had given a verbal to Michigan, but opted to sign with Cincinnati instead.

Stacey will join other GMC peers as a member of the Bearcats including Colerain defensive backs Andre Jones (6-1, 185) and Dylan Coombs (6-0, 185) as well as Middletown teammates, LB/RB EJ Junior (6-2, 210) and WR/S Zach Edwards (6-1, 175).

Hamilton lineman Adam Pankey (6-6, 315) waited to the last minute before deciding on West Virginia over Pittsburgh.

Mason offensive linemen Joseph Spencer (6-3, 280) opted to stay with Illinois despite their coaching change. However, Middletown defensive back Cody Quinn (5-10, 178) decided to sign with Kentucky.

Lakota West safety Dawson Fletcher (6-0, 180) is also headed to the Big Ten after signing with Indiana.
