After earning their first-ever state championship, the Winton Woods Warriors were recognized as TriStateFootball.com’s Cincinnati Team of the Year on Thursday at our Year In Review Show at Buca di Beppo in Norwood.
The Warriors finished the season 13-2 and made an impressive run to the Division II state championship game on the heels of their explosive running game and opportunistic defense.
Winton Woods did it with perseverance, style, class and a playoff run that saw them outscore their five foes by an average of five touchdowns per game. Their 633 points were the eighth most in Ohio history. They scored 10 touchdowns in a game twice, nine and eight each once.
Anderson, Elder, Middletown, St. Xavier and Wyoming were also nominated.
