Cincy: Gold Star Team of the Week

Each week this season TriStateFootball.com will be nominating teams for our Gold Star Chili Cincinnati Team of the Week award, highlighting schools that earned hard-fought victories.

Visitors to our website will be able to vote once per day from the time the nominations are released through 9:00 AM Friday morning for the team of their choice. Winners will be announced weekly on Friday morning.

Teams are only eligible to win once during the season and will not be nominated again after winning the award the first time. All winning teams will be recognized by Chick-fil-A, a proud sponsor of high school football and supporter of the community.

Here are this week's nominations from Cincinnati:

BATAVIA (2-0)
21-6 win over Mariemont. After just two games the Bulldogs have matched their win total over the previous two seasons.

BADIN (2-0)
55-22 win over Taft. The Rams are lighting up the scoreboard against the CMAC, averaging 52 points over two games.

EDGEWOOD (2-0)
54-30 win over Milford. Edgewood is taking well to new head coach Scott Clemmons, outscoring opponents 110-36 so far.

LASALLE (1-1)
21-11 win over CovCath. LaSalle put 27 points against a CovCath defense that hadn't allowed a point through eight quarters.

OAK HILLS (2-0)
45-21 win over Harrison. New head coach Dan Scholz has the Highlanders looking good and off to a 2-0 start.

SYCAMORE (2-0)
27-0 win over East Central. Through two games the Aviators defesne has only allowed seven points.

WALNUT HILLS (1-1)
37-34 win over Western Hills. The Eagles rallied from a 28-7 halftime deficit to pickup their first win of 2012.
