TSF Ohio DI Rankings: Week 6

By TSF Staff | TRISTATEFOOTBALL.COM

The Colerain Cardinals are the new No. 1 rank team in our latest TSF Ohio DI Rankings.

There is a new king of the hill in our latest ranking. St. Xavier’s big win over Moeller see’s a shake up in the top as Colerain slides into the top spot after handing #4 Sycamore their first loss of the season.

The rest of the Top 10 pretty much took care of business. Lakota East is the only newcomer this week as Middletown falls out to the rankings for the first time in over two years. The fight for the precious eight Region 4 playoff spots is getting pretty intense as teams like LaSalle, Mason, Centerville and Loveland making strong cases as well.

Here are the latest TriStateFootball.com Ohio DI Rankings:

1. Colerain (5-0)
How they fared: Held off a game Sycamore squad, 28-21.
Looking Ahead: No rest for the weary as the Cardinals head to hard hitting Mason (3-2, 1-1).

2. St. Xavier (3-2)
How they fared: The Bombers are for real after dismantling former #1 Moeller, 49-21.
Looking Ahead: No time to be mentally weak as St. X heads to The Pit for a showdown with Elder.

3. Moeller (4-1)
How they fared: Time to regroup for the Crusaders as St. Xavier taught them that the road to a state championship still runs through North Bend Road.
Looking Ahead: An eager and desperate team awaits Moeller again as they head to LaSalle. The Lancers are in need of that signature win.

4. Sycamore (4-1)
How they fared: The Aviators should grit and proved they are going to be a threat in November in seven point loss to Colerain.
Looking Ahead: Sycamore must come out mentally focused as Fairfield will not be a walk in the park.

5. Wayne (4-1)
How they fared: Each week the Warriors continue to improve as they best Butler for their third straight victory.
Looking Ahead: Defense has propelled Wayne during their current win streak, allowing just 13 points per game. They look to improve on that versus Springfield (1-4).

6. Elder (3-2)
How they fared: The Panthers get a great bounce back road win in Indy over Bishop Chatard, 24-7.
Looking Ahead: The GCL South home opener versus St. Xavier puts Elder’s playoff destiny in their own control, on their own turf.

7. Springboro (5-0)
How they fared: The Panthers recorded their second straight shutout as they cruised past Piqua, 55-0.
Looking Ahead: The Springboro defense should thrive again this week at West Carrollton (2-3).

8. Lakota West (5-0)
How they fared: The West defense continues to shine as they shut down Fairfield, 32-8.
Looking Ahead: The Firebirds are holding their opponents to 7.0 points over the last four weeks and that plays into their favor against Princeton (0-5, 0-2).

9. Lebanon (4-1)
How they fared: The Luke Morgan to Austin Wolfe connection continues to be the best in Southwest Ohio as the Warriors aerial attack is too much for Fairmont.
Looking Ahead: GWOC South play begins with a trip to Xenia (3-2). The Bucs have the speed to make life uncomfortable for Lebanon.

10. Lakota East (4-1)
How they fared: Took down Middletown for their third straight win.
Looking Ahead: The Thunderhawks travel to Hamilton (2-3, 0-2). The Big Blue are better than their record indicates.
