TSF NKY Rankings: Week 7

Dave Trosper guided his Conner Cougars to a big win over Cooper and up to No. 4 in our latest NKY Rankings.

It was a big week of action in Northern Kentucky high school football this past weekend. With several games impacting our rankings.

Conner knocked off Cooper in a Class 5A tilt. While the loss did not impact the Jaguars' No. 3 spot in the rankings, it did help Conner move up to No. 4.

Simon Kenton fell to fifth after a heartbreaking one-point loss to Campbell County, who stays locked in at No. 6.

Walton-Verona's 4-2 start has the Bearcats sliding into the rankings for the first time this season at No. 10.

Here are the latest TriStateFootball.com Northern Kentucky Rankings:

1. Highlands (6-0)
How they fared: They picked up their sixth straight win to open the season as they cruised past Harrison County.
Looking Ahead: Pendleton County is the next victim for the Bluebirds as they make the trip to Ft. Thomas Friday.

2. CovCath (5-2)
How they fared: The Colonels bounced back nicely by taking care of business vs. Pendleton County on Saturday.
Looking Ahead: Harrison County makes their way to Wooten Field this coming week for a district contest.

3. Cooper (6-1)
How they fared: Cooper struggled offensively and dropped their first game of the year to rival Conner on the road.
Looking Ahead: The Jaguars must take care of business at South Oldham to keep their hopes of a district title alive.

4. Conner (4-2)
How they fared: The Cougars were impressive in all facets of the game as they took down in Cooper convincingly.
Looking Ahead: Conner returns home to face 6A Ryle as they take a break from district action in Week 7.

5. Simon Kenton (6-1)
How they fared: Simon Kenton watched their perfect season slip away on a two-point conversion by Campbell County.
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers continue district play by welcoming Boone County to Independence on Friday night.

6. Campbell County (3-3)
How they fared: A gutsy play call by head coach Steven Lickert to go for two has the Camels sitting atop district.
Looking Ahead: Campbell County will look to ride the momentum as they hit the road to face a rebuilding Dixie team.

7. Ryle (3-3)
How they fared: The Raiders still are struggling to score, but who needs points when your defense pitches shutouts?
Looking Ahead: Ryle makes the trip across the county to face a high-powered Conner attack in Week 7.

8. Lloyd (6-1)
How they fared: Lloyd continues to be one of the area's biggest surprises as they knocked off Brossart to move to 6-1.
Looking Ahead: The Juggernauts can lock up a district championship with a win at NewCath this coming Saturday night.

9. Holmes (4-2)
How they fared: Clearly the Bulldogs can hold their own against smaller schools, making NewCath the latest victim.
Looking Ahead: Holmes heads back into district action by making a trip to Harrison County this week.

10. Walton-Verona (4-2)
How they fared: The Bearcats are now in the driver's seat in Class 2A, District 5 following a win at Owen County.
Looking Ahead: Gallatin County pays a visit to the Walton-Verona Sports Complex on Friday night.
