Each week this season TriStateFootball.com will be nominating teams for our Chick-fil-A Northern Kentucky Team of the Week award, highlighting schools that earned hard-fought victories.
Visitors to our website will be able to vote once per day from the time the nominations are released through 9:00 AM Friday morning for the team of their choice. Winners will be announced weekly on Friday morning.
Teams are only eligible to win once during the season and will not be nominated again after winning the award the first time. All winning teams will be recognized by Chick-fil-A, a proud sponsor of high school football and supporter of the community.
Here are this week's nominations from Northern Kentucky:
33-28 win over Dixie Heights. The Tigers are getting healthy and more than ready to make a run in Class 1A.
12-7 win over NewCath. Terry Liggin has his Bulldogs chomping at the bit to prove they are capable of making a playoff run.
HOLY CROSS (2-4)
42-12 win over Newport. After losing five straight games, the Indians snapped out of a funk in a big way against the Wildcats.
14-0 win over Boone County. The Raiders got it done with defense this week, shutting out the Rebels is a physical affair.
21-14 win over Owen County. Jeff Barth's boys are standing alone atop the district with a 2-0 record and playing some good football.
