Cincy: Gold Star Team of the Week

Vote for this week's Gold Star Chili Cincy Team of the Week.

Each week this season TriStateFootball.com will be nominating teams for our Gold Star Chili Cincinnati Team of the Week award, highlighting schools that earned hard-fought victories.

Visitors to our website will be able to vote once per day from the time the nominations are released through 9:00 AM Friday morning for the team of their choice. Winners will be announced weekly on Friday morning.

Teams are only eligible to win once during the season and will not be nominated again after winning the award the first time. All winning teams will be recognized by Chick-fil-A, a proud sponsor of high school football and supporter of the community.

Here are this week's nominations from Cincinnati:

LAKOTA EAST (7-3)
33-21 win over Lakota West. They snapped a 7-game skid to their rivals and took their playoff spot in the process.

MADERIA (9-1)
21-7 win over Wyoming. The Mustangs claimed to CHL title and secured a playoff berth by knocking off the Cowboys.

MCNICHOLAS (7-3)
29-12 win over Badin. The Rockets are flying high as they head into the postseason as GCL Central champs.

MOELLER (7-3)
45-42 win over Louisville Trinity. Knocking off one of the top team's in the nation should provide nice momentum.

NORWOOD (9-1)
39-29 win over Western Brown. The Indians secured first league crown since winning the Cross County Conference back in 1988.

ST. XAVIER (6-4)
23-9 win over Louisville St. Xavier. With their backs against the wall, the Bombers win the Battle of St. X's.

WINTON WOODS (7-3)
20-15 win over Glen Este. Finishing a strong note was key to the Warriors earning the No. 2 seed in Region 8.
