Walton-Verona tosses 3rd shutout
- Updated: September 22, 2017
Walton-Verona recorded its third shutout of the season as the Bearcats blanked Owen County, 61-0 on Friday.
Zach Clinkenbeard caught a 35-yard touchdown from Garrett Jones to open the scoring, and Micah Alford punched a pair of scores to make it 21-0 less than nine minutes into the game.
It was Walton-Verona’s highest offensive output since Oct. 10, 2014, when it ran up 68 points vs. Gallatin County.
Both teams head to the road next week, as the Bearcats will face Trimble County while the Rebels travel to Gallatin County.
