Batesville’s backfield by committee
- Updated: March 28, 2015
Even though Batesville loses a three-year starter at quarterback in Connor Schuck the Bulldogs return a trio of runners who had a pretty impressive 2014 for a team that finished 8-3.
Jacob Koehne (494), Zach Mears (558) and Tanner Ayette (573) combined to run for 1,625 yards on 175 carries, 9.3/carry with 19 touchdowns. That accounted for 71.1% of the team’s yards on the ground. Mears led the team with eight rushing scores while Ayette had seven.
