WCPO Player of the Week – Week 2

Mercy Orthopedics has partnered with WCPO 9 On Your Side and TriStateFootball.com to present the High School Football Player of the Week for the 2015 regular season. Players will be nominated from the Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana areas.

WCPO-POWEach week 10-14 nominees will be selected from a large list of some of the area’s top performances and will be included in an online voting poll to determine a winner. The voting is open from now until Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET. Voters can vote once per hour, per IP address.

Once a player wins, they will be ineligible to be nominated a second time. All of the season winners will be recognized and receive a plaque at the TriStateFootball.com Year in Review Show in February at Holy Grail Banks (more details announced during postseason).

Dakota Allen, Lebanon, QB – Threw for 345 yards and four touchdowns as the Warriors downed Loveland 50-21.

Eric Anderson, Newport Central Catholic, DB – Anderson intercepted two passes, returning one for a touchdown, as NewCath recorded its first win of the season at Campbell County.

Robby Boone, Glen Este, RB – Ran for 137 yards, caught six passes for 111 yards, completed a passes for 31 yards and scored four touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving) as the Trojans got a big win over Winton Woods.

Cole Carmosino, McNicholas, WR/K – He kicked three field goals and caught a touchdown pass as the Rockets beat rival Anderson.

Justin Durham, Lloyd, RB – Durham ran for 153 yards with two touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the Juggernauts thrilling 36-33 overtime win over Grant County.

Samonte Griffin, Aiken, QB – The signal caller completed 13-of-18 for 197 yards passing, had 141 yards rushing on nine carries while accounting for a pair of scores (one rushing, one passing) as the Falcons blanked Jefferson Township, 28-0.

Martell Johnson, Deer Park, RB/LB – Johnson amassed 228 all-purpose yards, including 150 rushing with two touchdowns, and was in on eight total tackles as the Wildcats got their first win of the year.

Hunter Krause, Fairfield, QB – The senior became Fairfield’s all-time leader in passing yards after throwing for 234 yards with three touchdown passes in the Indians won at Northmont.

Jeremy Larkin, La Salle, RB – The Lancer carried the ball 14 times for 253 yards and four touchdowns as LaSalle won big on the road at East Central.

Austin Torrens, New Richmond, QB/K – He rushed for two touchdowns, threw for another, kicked two field goals and three extra points as he compiled 21 of New Richmond’s points in the victory over Taylor.

Jacob Woycke, Oak Hills, QB – After throwing four first-half interceptions in his varsity debut Wyocke rebounded with 306 yards passing, three touchdown tosses with no picks as Oak Hills won 31-29 at Harrison.
