Fairfield came back from eight points down with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns by David Keeling to edge Hamilton, 20-14 in the teams’ regular-season finale on Friday.
Down 6-0 at halftime, the Big Blue ran in a pair of touchdowns right after the break to take a 14-6 lead.
But Keeling broke a 75-yard TD run with 8:09 left in regulation. The Indians’ two-point conversion failed, keeping the score 14-12 Hamilton.
Keeling found the end zone again with 1:15 to play, and Fairfield converted a pass to take a six-point lead.
Keeling ran the ball 28 times for 198 yards and a touchdown as his quarterback, Hunter Krause was held to 6 of 16 for 80 yards and a pick.
Hamilton QB Steve Hamilton was 16-for-27 for 159 yards, and Eric Jackson caught nine of them for 81 yards. Isaiah Murph rushed 20 times for 89 yards and one score.
