Highlands cruises past Dixie

Highlands scored 24 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 42-7 win over Dixie Heights on Friday.
Senior Nick Kendall rushed 26 times for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns to pace the Bluebirds. Junior Grant Murray ran the ball nine times for 72 yards.
Highlands senior quarterback Austin Hergott was 10 of 17 passing for 77 yards and one TD, and he ran for another score.
Colonels senior quarterback Gunther Faeth carried it 18 times for 148 yards and the team’s lone touchdown.
The last two scores for Highlands were both set up by Bradley Greene punt returns of 63 and 40 yards.
The Bluebirds outgained Dixie Heights, 332-281 and forced four turnovers, including three fumbles.
Highlands will travel to Covington Catholic next week for a Saturday matinee, while the Colonels will face Grant County in Williamstown.
