Koller leads Kings past Glen Este
- Updated: October 23, 2015
Kings took one step closer in clinching a playoff spot with a win over Glen Este, 45-14, Friday night at home.
On senior night, Kings scored four minutes into the game on an Avery Koller five-yard touchdown run. It was the first of his four touchdowns runs, as he finished the game with 172 yards.
The Knights quickly jumped to a two touchdown lead after Glen Este fumbled on its own 18-yard line on its ensuing drive. Mike Kenney took a handoff 11 yards for a 14-0 lead.
Kenney carried the football 13 times for 108 yards. Kings controlled the game, taking a 31-10 lead at halftime and never looked back.
One of the top recruits in the area, junior quarterback Tyler Knecht, used more of his legs than his arm in this game. He finished the game with 107 yards and one touchdown on the ground. He only threw the ball 11 times, but completed eight of those passes.
The Knights outrushed Glen Este, 412-36. The Kings were able to convert 9 of 10 third-down conversions.
Glen Este senior quarterback Tyler Pilcher completed 18 of 30 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown. His favorite targets tonight were Tanner Ayers and Jacob Hamilton. Ayers gained 109 yards and Hamilton caught six passes for 121 yards. This was this third straight 100-yard game.
With the Turpin loss to Loveland, Kings will win the Eastern Cincinnati League with a win over Anderson, and a Turpin loss to Walnut Hills. Glen Este will play at Withrow to finish the regular season.
