Lloyd dominates Newport

Junior running back Justin Durham rushed eight times for 100 yards and three touchdowns as Lloyd pounded Newport, 42-6 in the teams’ Class 2A opener on Friday.

Senior Dashon Lunsford added nine carries for 64 yards and one TD in the Juggernauts’ win. Junior quarterback Alex Runion was 6 of 14 passing for 140 yards and a pair of scores.

Lloyd outgained Newport, 462-102.

The Juggernauts travel to NewCath next week, while the Wildcats host Holy Cross.
