Milford’s Slone Voted WCPO POW
- Updated: October 2, 2015
Milford running back Dawson Slone was voted the Mercy Orthopedic Player of the Week for Week 5, registering 2,725 votes (34.4 percent).
The junior compiled 189 yards on 16 carries as Milford took down Anderson, 28-15. The performance helped the Eagles to move to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 inside ECC play.
Slone edged out St. Xavier’s Matthew Bockhorst and Danny Otakasongo of Lakota West in the voting conducted by TriStateFootball.com. In total, 12 players were nominated with 7,930 votes casted.
We will be presenting awards to each of this season’s winners at the upcoming TSF Year in Review Shows coming in mid-to-late February at Holy Grail at The Banks (more details coming soon).
Players can be nominated weekly on Twitter @TSFootball. Voting will begin next week by Monday morning.
