Senior Jacob Smith ran in a 2-yard touchdown with 8:06 left in regulation to lift Newport Central Catholic to a 20-13 win over Holy Cross on Friday.
Thoroughbreds senior defensive back Erik Anderson intercepted an Indians pass in the final minute to seal the win.

Holy Cross was led by Xavier Abernathy, who carried the ball 16 times for 136 yards and a pair of TDs.
NewCath outgained the Indians, 314 to 252, with 220 yards rushing and 94 passing. The Indians ran for 222 yards and threw for 30.
