Turpin stays unbeaten, eyes ECC title
- Updated: October 16, 2015

Turpin’s dream season continued, as the Spartans stayed unbeaten and inched closer to another Eastern Cincinnati Conference title after knocking off Milford 28-16 Friday night in Milford.
Spartans junior running back Luke Bohenek scored three touchdowns on the night, two on the ground on runs of 47 and three yards, and one on a pass reception. Bohenek passed 1,000 yards rushing with his 30-carry, 173-yard rushing effort.
Senior quarterback Bennie Stoll threw for 189 yards on 15-of-24 passing and two scores, while junior wide receiver Jack Campbell accounted for the other receiving touchdown, a 24-yard catch with 0:43 left in the first quarter.
Turpin (8-0 overall, 5-0 ECC) jumped out to a 21-3 halftime lead, and extended that lead to 28-3 early in the third quarter on Bohenek’s second rushing touchdown.
Milford (3-5, 1-4) scored their first touchdown on the night when junior quarterback Tyler Smith scored on a five yard rushing touchdown, and then Dakota Lefter cut the score to 28-16 on 16-yard run with 9:06 left in the game, but the Eagles could get no closer.
Turpin had a balanced offense, running for 192 yards, and throwing for 189, out-gaining Milford 381-287.
Turpin, projected as a high seed in the Division II playoffs and a near certainty to host a first round game, will host Loveland next Friday in their final regular season home game, while Milford will travel to Walnut Hills.
