Clinton-Massie runs by Taft
- Updated: November 7, 2015
The Clinton-Massie Falcons have hoisted a couple state championship trophies in recent years behind a power running game. Once again on Saturday night, that recipe for success was on display as they powered past the visiting Taft Senators, 70-14.
Davey Toney ran for a school record 371 yards and six touchdowns on 25 carries to help Clinton-Massie (10-3) move on to the second round of the Ohio Division IV, Region 14 playoffs.
Taft (7-3) had no answers up for the front for the Falcons, allowing 569 total yards to the home team, including 499 yards on the ground on 50 carries. They ran 59 plays against the Senators. Two were incomplete passes and the other 57 plays for positive yardage.
On tap next for Clinton-Massie will be a match-up versus Cincinnati Hills League champion Indian Hill, Cincinnati’s only undefeated football team, next Saturday night at site to be announced on Sunday.
