Highlands runs past Dixie

Highlands scored 28 unanswered points in the first two-plus quarters in a 52-21 win over Dixie Heights in a second-round Class 5A playoff game on Friday.
Bluebirds senior Nick Kendall rushed 16 times for 238 yards including touchdowns of 90 and 82 yards. Junior Grant Murray added 127 ground yards and two TDs on seven carries.
Highlands finished with 494 yards of offense, with 422 of that coming via rushing. The Bluebirds held the Colonels to 297 total yards.
Dixie Heights senior QB Gunter Faeth went 15-for-29 for 191 yards and a pair of scores in his career finale.
Highlands will host Covington Catholic in a state quarterfinal next week.
