Kentucky Offensive POY: Dillon Powell
- Updated: February 13, 2016
So often in the first half of Simon Kenton games the tone was set by senior running back Dillon Powell who left opponents battered, bruised and beaten down by intermission. Behind his lead the Pioneers would finish the regular season undefeated for the second time in the last three years. They would end up 13-1. For his efforts Powell was named the 2015 TriStateFootball.com Kentucky Offensive Player of the Year as TSF paid tribute to finest from Northern Kentucky, Dayton, Cincinnati and Southeast Indiana area’s high school gridiron at the Year in Review Show on Wednesday night at the Holy Grail-Banks in downtown Cincinnati.
Powell finished the year with 1,780 yards rushing, 2,196 all-purpose yards and 24 total touchdowns (23 rushing). Nine times in 13 games Powell ran for more than 100 yards. Simon Kenton went 36-4 in Powell’s three years as a starter.
