Schedule Sneak Peek: Centerville
- Updated: March 12, 2016
Redemption would be the way to categorize Centerville’s 2016 schedule. The Elks went 6-4 a year ago and all four teams that they lost to are on the slate again this fall. Lakota West is also on the on the docket. Centerville was the #1 seed and lost to the #16 seeded Firebirds in the first round of the 2014 playoffs after going undefeated in the regular season.
The Elks have the benefit of facing some of the tougher teams on their home turf. Outside of a trip to the far northeast side of Columbus the travel is light. That should ease the grind of regular season.
Here is a look at the 2016 Centerville schedule:
Fri – 08/26/16 – FAIRFIELD – 7:00 PM
Fri – 09/02/16 – LAKOTA WEST – 7:00 PM
Fri – 09/09/16 – @Pickerington North – 7:00PM
Fri – 09/16/16 – SPRINGFIELD – 7:00PM
Fri – 09/23/16 – @Springboro – 7:00PM
Fri – 09/30/16 – WAYNE – 7:00PM
Fri – 10/07/16 – @Lebanon – 7:00PM
Fri – 10/14/16 – NORTHMONT – 7:00PM
Fri – 10/22/16 – @Fairmont – 7:00PM
Fri – 10/28/16 – @Beavercreek – 7:00PM
FINAL TAKE: Getting through September is not going to be easy as head coach Rodney Roberts will have to keep his Elks from being beaten up both physically and mentally. Centerville gave up 32 points or more on eight occasions last fall. Having a record above .500 in the first six weeks should get Roberts and his boys in a great position to make the postseason. Centerville should be able to run the table in October giving them great momentum heading into the playoffs.
