- Updated: August 31, 2016

Campbell County’s Nick Mayer was voted the WCPO Player of the Week for Week 1, registering 2,820 votes (25.6 percent).
Mayer kicked the game-winning 29-yard field goal in the final seconds of the Camels’ first win over Highlands in 25 years. He also had a 94-yard touchdown reception.
He edged out Trace Sword of Hamilton and East Central’s Garren Messmore in the voting conducted by TriStateFootball.com. In total, 15 players were nominated with 11,026 votes casted.
We will be presenting awards to each of this season’s winners at the upcoming TSF Year in Review Shows coming in mid-to-late February (more details coming soon).
