Sycamore runs past Hamilton
- Updated: September 16, 2016
Two weeks into the season, it looked like Sycamore was in for a rough year, as the Aviators lost in Weeks 1 and 2 in overtime.
But thanks to RaVon Bonner’s five rushing touchdowns, Sycamore won handily for the second straight week, 41-20 over previously-unbeaten Hamilton on Friday.
“Tonight our lineman played magnificent,” Bonner said. “We could have driven a bus through those holes.”
Bonner ran in a 2-yard score as the Aviators took the lead midway through the first quarter.
Jake Borman hooked up with Myron Williams for a 4-yard score to make it a two-possession game six minutes into the second quarter.
After the break, Bonner, who rushed for 133 yards in the first half, scored twice from two yards out to sandwich a Big Blue score, making it 27-7.
Hamilton was able to match scored for much of the second half, but Bonner punched in his final two TDs from two yards and one yard to seal it.
Bonner, who had four scores from two yards out and the other from one, has found the end zone 15 times in four games including 13 in his last three contests.
“This team is truly a brotherhood,” Bonner said. “In high school everyone has different interests but we have a unity on this team.”
Sycamore travels to Colerain for a Thursday night game next week while the Big Blue host Mason.
