Week 3 WCPO Vote Ends In Dead Heat
- Updated: September 14, 2016
For only the second time in 11 years, we’ve had our Team of the Week voting here at TSF end in a statistical dead heat.
Harrison’s Frankie Young and Ryan Montgomery of Franklin combined to have over 9,200 votes and after over three days of voting there was less than 0.03 of difference in the results. That falls under our margin of error that we allow by rule to determine a winner.
The two players are officially being named as WCPO Co-Players of the Week and each player will be recognized individually, along with all weekly WCPO Player of the Weeks throughout the year, at the TriStateFootball.com Year in Review Show in February (more details coming soon). Congratulations to each athlete and thank you to all of their loyal fans that showed out to support their player.
Young threw for six touchdowns and 501 yards as his team got their first win in a thriller at Anderson. Montgomery found the end zone three times on two runs and a kickoff return for a score while amassing 197 all-purpose yards as the Wildcats remained unbeaten by besting Piqua.
The pair edged out Drew Reckart of Edgewood East Central’s Logan Storie in the voting conducted by TriStateFootball.com. In total, 13 players were nominated with 16,686 votes casted.
Next week’s WCPO Player of the Week nominees will be announced on Sunday evening. Please e-mail nominations weekly to [email protected] or on Twitter @TSFootball.
