Missed late conversion dooms Ryle

Ryle scored a potentially game-tying touchdown with 33 seconds left but was unable to convert the ensuing two-point conversion.

The Raiders’ unbeaten season came to an end in the Class 6A state quarterfinal round as they fell, 42-40 to Scott County on Friday in a game that featured over 900 yards of total offense.

Ryle QB Tanner Morgan hooked up with Stefan Clarkson for a 21-yard touchdown in the closing minute, but a pass attempt on the conversion fell short.

Morgan was 21 of 31 for 264 yards and four touchdowns, with Bryce Ashley catching 10 of those passes and two TD throws, totaling 141 receiving yards.

Jake Chisholm ended the night with 183 rushing yards, five catches for 66 yards and three total touchdowns in the losing effort.
