Senior Salute: Zelwyn Robinson
- Updated: December 8, 2016
Zelwyn Robinson will go down as one of the most versatile and productivity offensive players to ever suit up in the Greater Miami Conference. For the past three seasons Robinson has been charging up Lakota West fans with his electrifying style of play. He topped off his great career by being named Division I Special Mention All-Ohio and First Team All-Southwest District in 2016. As a junior, Robinson was a Second Team All-District selection.
While in a Firebirds uniform, at the varsity level, Robinson caught 127 passes for 1,569 yards, ran for 1,662 yards, threw for 109 yards, amassed 4,005 all-purpose yards and found the end zone 45 times (33 rushing, 11 receiving, one kickoff return). His 291 yards on the ground and six touchdowns against Oak Hills this past season set the school record for rushing scores in a game. It was one of the greatest performances in Lakota West football history.
Robinson also holds the school record for career touchdowns (45), longest kickoff return (99 yards) and is the only player in Lakota West history to have more than 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in their career.
