It was a rewarding senior season for Lavassa Martin who became the offensive focal point for a resurgent Badin (5-5) program. The Rams runner set the school record for rushing yards in a season with 1,441, while averaging 9.2 per carry with 11 trips to the end zone. Eight times in 10 games he ran for at least 100 yards including a personal best of 274 yards against Roger Bacon. Martin churned out 160 yards or more on five occasions. He even made an impact on defense with 32 total tackles (27 solo) and a pair of sacks.

The effort earned Martin, GCL Central Co-Offensive player of the year and Second Team All-Southwest District accolades. He finishes with 2,166 yards rushing, 17 touchdowns (16 rushing) and 2,713 all-purpose yards in a Rams uniform. Martin is currently being recruited by Urbana University and several other Division II schools.
