Defense, Leg of Crago Lifts Lebanon Past Loveland

LEBANON, ohio – Five Billy Crago field goals were all the points that Lebanon needed to muster up, in its first victory of the season and the Matt Hopkins era. The Warriors were able to move the ball between the 20’s but could never punch it into the end zone. Senior Crago was deadly, connecting on four three-pointers between 33 and 38 yards ending Loveland’s hope of getting into the win column. He had one career field coming into the game.

It was a bend but not break night for the Lebanon defense. They allowed the Tigers to convert on 13-21 third and fourth down attempts. The Warriors were able to negate some of that damage with aggressive play coming up with three turnovers and three sacks. Nick Straw led the way. The senior was in on 21 total tackles (nine solo), had a sack and a forced fumble.

Bright spots for Loveland were running backs Liam Hamill and Kyle Whitaker who each ran for 83 yards. Quarterback Riley Hamill tossed a pair of scores for the Tigers.
