Fairfield Remains Undefeated in GMC

Fairfield remains undefeated in GMC with a 31-14 win over Princeton Friday night at home.
Behind Juthan McClain, Fairfield dominated Princeton for three quarters after the game was tied at seven after the first quarter. McClain finished the game with 210 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
McClain scored his first touchdown with just under 10 minutes left in the first quarter.
Princeton answered quickly on a 57-yard pass from Dorian Durham to Jermaine Wimpye to tie the game at 7-7. That was as close as the game would get as McClain scored his second touchdown and Elgin Phillips kicked a field goal to extend the lead to 17-7 at the end of the half.
After a scoreless third quarter, Fairfield scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help secure the win. Jeff Tyus threw a touchdown pass to senior Erick All, and McClain scored his third touchdown of the night.
The veteran senior quarterback threw for 183 yards on 12-for-17 attempts. All led the team with 60 yards on four receptions.
Princeton’s Durham threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
This is Fairfield’s fourth straight win after losing to Springfield in the second week of the season.
