CHCA Wins Sixth Straight MVC Title

CINCINNATI, ohio – Big plays paved the way as Cincinnati Hills Christian knocked off Miami Valley Christian Academy, 43-29 and captured its sixth straight Miami Valley Conference crown. After a 1-2 start this young Eagles rebounded to win their final six games and earn the schools 14th trip to the payoffs (15-13).

Junior quarterback Cole Fisher threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns to lead the CHCA offense. He has 10 touchdown tosses and 622 yards passing in his last two games. Seniors Julian Herman and Alex Barnard each had four receptions. Barnard had 124 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Herman ended up with 119 receiving yards a scoring catch. Classmate DJ Ames carried the ball 14 times for 124 yards and found the end zone once. Defensively for the Eagles sophomore Garrett Jotsworth snared three interceptions.

Even though they were overmatched, in terms of numbers on the sidelines, MVCA proved it was worthy of playing in November. The Lions defense sacked Fisher six times and picked him off on three occasions. Fisher came into the contest with just one interception on the season. Joe Lusby had one of those picks and two of the sacks for MVCA. On offense for the Lions, Caleb Lusby had a game-high 123 yards rushing and 104 passing. Jon Surman carried the ball 11 times for 121 yards and a touchdown. He also had one-and-a-half sacks on the night.
