Holmes (4-4, 3-0) head coach Ben Nevels talks with Greg Shoemaker of TriStateFootball.com and James Rapien of ESPN 1530 AM radio about his surging Bulldogs and their upcoming game against Class 4A, District 7 rival, Scott (4-4, 2-1). The Bulldogs started 0-4 and have since won four straight and are looking to win the Class 4A, District 7 title outright tonight. A loss could make for a three-way tie with Scott and Harrison County who would all be 3-1.
Nevels is 21-41 in his sixth season as the Bulldogs head coach.
Holmes scored a combined 32 points in its first five games (6.4/game). They gave up 34.2 points per game in that same span and that includes shutting out Harrison County 5-3, 2-1), 6-0. Over the last three weeks the Bulldogs have outscored their foes by an average score of 37.7 to 13.7 (24.0/game)
