Pregame Interview: Steve Specht, St. Xavier

St. Xavier (4-4) head coach Steve Specht talks with Greg Shoemaker of TriStateFootball.com and James Rapien of ESPN 1530 AM radio about his Bombers and their upcoming game against Cleveland St. Ignatius (6-2) on Saturday. Specht is 134-51 with three state titles in his 15th season at St. Xavier.

The Bombers have won 2 in a row after dropping the previous three before that. St. Xavier has combined to score 80 points the last two weeks. It’s best back-to-back offensive games of the season. Six different St. X receivers have at least two TD catches on the year.

Outside of the 51 points they gave up to Elder, St. Xavier has allowed just 12.2 points in its other seven games – which includes tilts versus Colerain, Moeller La Salle. The Bombers defense has four returns for TDs (three IRs, one FR).
