Taft Records Fifth Shutout In Win Over Western Hills

CINCINNATI, ohio – Before the season began Taft head coach set a goal for his defense to allow just 50 points for the season. Friday night’s blanking 27-0 blanking of Western Hills kept the Senators on pace to achieve that mark. It was the fifth shutout of the year for Taft who has given up just 28 points (six of those came on an interception return by the opposition) through eight weeks. The victory also gives the Senators sole possession of first place of the CMAC with two games remaining.

Cleveland Farmer paced a Taft offense that saw three runners eclipse 60 yards rushing. Farmer led the way with 96 yards on the ground followed by 70 yards from Recold Moore and 60 more off the legs of Demarco Bradley. Chris’Seon Stringer added 43 more yards and scored one of two rushing touchdowns by the Senators (Farmer had the other). Stringer now has touchdowns rushing, receiving, on a fumble recovery and an interception this season. He also had a pick in this contest.

Defensively, Isaiah Cunningham was a tackling machine for Taft. He finished the night with 22 total tackles 14 solo. As a team the Senators forced three turnovers and had three sacks.
