Blitz 5 Top 25: Late-season shake ups

One “upset” has changed the landscape at the top of the Blitz 5 Top 25 presented by TriStateFootball.com this week. La Salle’s win at St. Xavier has jumped Fairfield, Covington Catholic and La Salle up over St. Xavier, Colerain and Winton Woods in the poll.

With two weeks left in the regular season there is plenty to still be settled in Ohio. The GMC and GCL South titles come down to Week 10 battles.

Fairfield and Wyoming have clinched first round playoff home games. Joining Fairfield in the Division I, Region 4 playoffs will be Elder, St. Xavier and Colerain, who have all clinched postseason berths. They are still jockeying for seeding and the opportunity to host a first-round contest. All others in the Buckeye state is still fighting for their playoff livelihood.

East Central begins its quest for a fifth consecutive sectional title as the playoffs begin in Indiana this Friday night. The Trojans seniors are 13-2 in the postseason over the past three years.
