UNION, Kentucky – In a game where things didn’t always look pretty Simon Kenton Managed to make the big plays when it had to. The Pioneers have now won three in a row and look like they are starting to get their groove on at the right time

Freshman quarterback Chase Crone showed off his big arm and fancy footwork. Crone accounted for five touchdowns (three pass, two rush). He threw for 279 yards and ran for another 91 yards. The benefactor on the receiving end of things was Evan Mulberry. The senior had eight catches for 201 yards and two touchdowns.

The Simon Kenton defense was relentless and took on the hard-hitting persona of junior linebacker Nate Walker and defensive lineman, Jack Milton. It was one of the better performances of the year for this Pioneers unit. It was the third time in the last five games that they have given up 14 points or fewer.

Ryle has been hampered by injuries to quarterbacks all season long and Friday was no different with Keegan Stanken coming up hobbled in the second quarter. The inconsistency on offense has shown because of that. It was the fifth time that the Raiders have been held to 14 points or less. The regular season is over for Ryle. They will not wait to see who they draw in the first round of the playoffs in two weeks.
