TSF 2021 Dayton DPOY Finalists

There are eight finalists for the 2021 TriState Football Dayton Defensive Player of the Year. All of them are all seniors including last seasons DPOY, Delian Bradley. Four of the eight finalists are from Division III, Region 12. This is the second nomination for Bradley and CJ Hicks.
The members of the All-TSF Teams, the TSF Teams of the Year, Players of the Year and finalists from Indiana, Dayton, Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati as well as the Mella Windows Players of the Week will be recognized at the TriState Football Year In Review Awards Show on Monday, February 21st, 2022 at the Holy Grail-Banks – RSVP 2021 TSF Year In Review Show
Here is a look at our finalists:
Ashton Ault (Bellbrook) – OPSWA Division III First Team All-Ohio (LB) and SWBL East DPOY. A four-year starter and the motor of the Golden Eagles defense. Ault tallied 94 total tackles, 3.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and had an interception. On offense, he picked up 625 yards from scrimmage and found the end zone seven times. Ault had 241 total tackles, five sacks, four fumble recoveries, two interceptions, 1,043 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns in a Bellbrook uniform.
Nathan Coy (Springboro) – OPSWA Division I Third Team All-Ohio and GWOC Co-DPOY. It was a breakout senior season for Coy who had 86 total tackles, a sack, three interceptions and three blocked field goals for the Panthers. He has committed to Siena Heights.
Cayd Everhart (Tippecanoe) – OPSWA Division III First Team All-Ohio (LB) and MVL DPOY. One of the area’s most productive players on both sides of the ball. Everhart registered 121 total tackles (78 solo), forced three fumbles and had two takeaways. On offense, he was a workhorse, carrying the ball 238 times for 1,470 yards and 21 touchdowns. Over the last two seasons, Everhart racked up 245 total tackles of which 152 were unassisted.
Delian Bradley (Springfield) – OPSWA Division I First Team All-Ohio for a second straight year. A four-year starter and defensive leader for state-runner up Springfield. Bradley was in on 81 total tackles, had one-and-a-half sacks, forced two fumbles with eight takeaways (five INTs, three FRs) and a pick-six. He ends his career in a Springfield uniform with 16 interceptions and nine fumble recoveries. Bradley has signed with Harvard.
CJ Hicks (Alter) – OPSWA Ohio Division III DPOY along with First Team All-Ohio and Southwest District DPOY for a second straight season. He was also the GCL Co-ed DPOY. Hicks recorded 84 total tackles and had two interceptions including a 99-yard pick six. The senior also had 1,560 all-purpose yards (667 rush, 396 rec., 497 ret) and 10 touchdowns (five rush, four rec., one IR). He has signed with Ohio State.
Tywan January (Springfield) – OPSWA Division I First Team All-Ohio and GWOC Co-DPOY. Teamed with Jokell Brown (Second Team All-Ohio) to form one of the most formidable interior defensive lines in the state. The senior ended up with 99 total tackles, five sacks with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. January has committed to Tiffin.
Logan Neu (Badin) – OPSWA Division III First Team All-Ohio and GCL Co-ed Co-DPOY. The senior was a pillar up front for the Division III state runner-up Badin Rams (14-1) defense that allowed only 8.7 points per game and just 6.7 points with three shutouts in the playoffs. Neu finished the year with 92 total tackles and 13.0 sacks. He has committed to Miami (OH).
Colton Trampler (Clinton-Massie) – OPSWA Division IV First Team All-Ohio and SBAAC American DPOY. The heart-and-soul of the state champion Falcons defense. Trampler recorded 99 total tackles (66 solo), had eight sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions including a pick-six. On offense, he ran for 1,205 yards and 13 touchdowns with three games of 119 yards or more in the playoffs.
